Keep your skin hydrated

Skin cells in our body are made up of water which means that in order for our skin cells to work at peak functionality they need to stay hydratedl. Keep your skin hydrated by drinking at least 2 litres of water a day.

Clean make up brushes once a week

Its easy for bacteria to build up on makeup brushes because they come into contact with different surfaces every day that are in contact with the outside world for example handbags. You touch your face with these brushes every day so essentially you are passing bacteria onto your face from dirty surfaces. 

Make it your duty to clean brushes at least once a week to eliminate the chances of passing bacteria built-up on your brushes onto your face.

Choose your makeup carefully

If you didn’t know already everyone has different skin types. Sometimes when you use certain products on the wrong skin type it can cause breakouts. To avoid this research what skin type you have and make a decision based on that information.

If you are someone with acne or greasy skin, oil-free products such as powder will matte any shine, however, if your skin is drier you will need to use more oil-based products.

Remove make up especially before bed

Bacteria is more likely to build up overnight as we get hotter and more sweaty at night. Pores in our skin are likely to get clogged up meaning that skin won’t be able to breathe. Taking makeup off at night gives your skin a chance to breathe again amend the skin’s moisture levels.
